Bridal Make Up/ Hair Trial Tips

Traditionally perceived as optional, makeup and hair consultations/trials are in reality a necessity that all brides must include in their budgets.  It provides the opportunity to refine and perfect the exact look each bride is expecting on her wedding day.  As such, here are my tips to ensure your consultation/trial goes smoothly:

  - ask the pertinent questions ahead of time (how long will it take; how many makeup looks and hairstyles are included; is airbrushing included; can I bring a friend or a family member)
 - if you know you have sensitive skin, make sure you notify the MUA ahead of time letting them know which products you have had an allergic reaction to in the past and ask feel free to ask for the brand and products they use
- email/bring pictures of makeup looks and hairstyles you're considering so the MUA will have a visual of your expectations
- email/bring pictures of your wedding dress so the MUA can ensure the overall look is cohesive
- bring the veil or hair accessory (hair extensions included) that you are planning wear so the MUA can effectively  incorporate it with your hairstyle
- wear a top that's similar to your wedding dress not only in color but style (tube top for strapless; tank top for spaghetti strap) so you can easily picture yourself on your wedding day when looking in the mirror
- bring a camera to take pictures of the completed looks so you don't have to rely on your memory and so you can show family and friends which one best suits you
- schedule the consultation/trial on the same day as your engagement/engagement photos or special event to not only save money but preview your glamourous look and gauge response

Remember, the whole point of the consultation/trial is to ensure there are no surprises come your wedding day and that you and that the MUA has successfully brought your vision to life.  Additionally, your MUA should make you feel at ease and be able to successfully answer all your questions and concerns!  At the same time, enjoy getting pampered, take your time and have fun!  A bride that looks and feels beautiful on her wedding is the key to great pictures, lasting memories, and a happy groom!

Wendy & Jaymes' Wedding.

Please enjoy the pictures to Wendy and Jaymes'  wedding.  The happy couple created a wonderfully successful mix of retro and vintage looks.  To compliment Wendy's sweet and genuine personality, we chose to go with the flawless airbrush foundation and soft smokey eyes.  For hair, we went with a chignon updo for that classic and romantic look!
